Deb LeAir - Hand Carved Clay - Feather Keepsake Urn
As detailed here plant forms continually inspire Ms. LeAirs work from her years as a gardener, and living on and off again in a wooded area of West Central Wisconsin. Subtlety mufti-colored feather like leaves drape this wheel thrown earthenware vessel with detailed lid. Possibly Aztec or Native American inspired detail at top of Vessel lid and base.
Total Volume: 64 cubic inches. Made in USA. Signed by the Artist.
About the Artist
I will never forget Deb LeAir was the first artist I approached to possibly purchase items from for this Cremation Urn business idea I had. She was so supportive and joyful to talk with. She was excited about my idea and was very helpful discussing types of products and marketing. Her's remain some of my fave pieces. There is a tremendous amount of work and creative detail that goes into each piece. Let alone the throwing of each piece and lid, the glazing and multiple firing, their is not an outside area that is not hand carved. As seen in all her pieces the vessel patterns flow to the bottom and the lid holds additional detail as well. Her slips and glazes compliment and contradict at the same time to accentuate the raised surface detail.
